Patricia Arquette’s CSI backdoor pilot was unveiled by CBS on Wednesday night. The Medium actress plays a cyber-cop who investigates cyber-crime in the cyber-sphere, or something.

Ratings were up, but not by much — 9.9 million viewers and a 1.8 rating among adults 18-49, climbing 6 percent from the show’s last original episode two weeks ago, but also matching the show’s performance three weeks ago (in other words, this isn’t an unusual rating for the show). Viewer reaction to the pilot probably counts more than the ratings in this situation, so sound off in our poll below.

CSI’s biggest rival was part 2 of NBC’s Chicago PD / Chicago Fire crossover, which edged out CBS for a win in the demo and was up from its last episode a few weeks ago. ABC’s Nashville came in a distant third in the hour with an all-time low.

Also Wednesday: ABC’s Modern Family was tops with a season-low rating, and new lead-out Mixology continued to struggle. CBS’ Survivor won the 8 p.m. hour. Fox’s American Idol was down 14 percent. The CW’s block was stable.
