'Bachelorette' contestant Eric Hill dies
Bachelorette contestant Eric Hill died Wednesday at age 31, People reports.
Hill, who appears on the upcoming season of The Bachelorette, starring Bachelor alum Andi Dorfman, was paragliding in Utah on April 20 when his parachute collapsed. He was in a coma until he died Wednesday.
“It is hard to think of life without his bright spark, but we know he is on to new adventures,” Hill’s sister Karen Tracy posted on Facebook. Hill was indeed an adventurer — in February 2013, he set foot on a mission to visit each country in less than 1,200 days.
“We are deeply saddened to hear about the tragic passing of our friend, Eric Hill,” The Bachelor producers said in a statement. “Eric inspired us every day with his passion, his courage and his adventurous spirit, and for that we are very thankful. On behalf of our cast, crew and producers, we send our love, our thoughts and our prayers to Eric’s family during this difficult time.”
“We look forward to carrying on his legacy here and greeting him joyfully again someday,” Tracy posted. “I love you so much, little brother!”
