The Obamas write personal condolence letter to Frankie Knuckles' family after legendary DJ's passing
There’s been a public outpouring for Chicago house music producer Frankie Knuckles, who passed away last month at 59-years-old. But now he’s been recognized by the leader of the free world: It turns out fellow Chicagoans Barack and Michelle Obama are fans.
Yes, the Godfather of House Music will be missed in the White House. According to Gawker, Mr. and Mrs. President wrote a letter to the friends and family of Knuckles, expressing their condolences and saying that he “helped open minds and bring people together, blending genres to capture our attention and ignite our imaginations.”
I’m getting a great visual of those two jamming to “Move Your Body” in the Oval Office after-hours. Please say that happened.
