Brian Williams 'raps' 'Gin and Juice' on 'Tonight Show'
NBC Nightly News anchor Brian Williams wants you to know he never said “hippity.”
Jimmy Fallon has turned Williams into a rap star through videos of Williams “performing” hip-hop classics like “Rapper’s Delight” and, as of last night, “Gin and Juice,” via some very fancy editing. So on Monday, Williams himself went on The Tonight Show to talk about his burgeoning rap career. And he has some of his own ideas.
“I would like some pride of authorship,” Williams says. “What about some early, pre-hearing loss Foxy Brown? What about some — any Luda would be great!” By that, Williams is of course referring to rapper Ludacris — apparently, they’re on a nickname basis. (Think Luda calls him BriWi?)
The anchor also has some complaints. “I’ve never said ‘hippity,'” Williams claims. “Never said ‘hippity.'” — despite what that “Rapper’s Delight” video might make you think. He’ll have to argue with John MacDonald, the editor behind the rap videos, about that one.
