The original Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, Noomi Rapace, will star as a CIA Agent in Unlocked. Mikael Hafstrom (Escape Plan) is set to direct the thriller, in which Rapace’s character gets tricked into supplying info to the wrong side and ends up at the center of a potentially devastating biological attack on London. Peter O’Brien‘s 2008 Black List script was recently let go from Warner Bros. (which picked it up in 2010) and is being produced as an indie. [Deadline]

• Peter Mayhew is reportedly returning to play Chewbacca in Star Wars: Episode VII. The 69-year-old English actor originated the role in the original trilogy. [THR]

• Carmen Ejogo (Sparkle) is in talks to play the part of Coretta Scott King in Ava DuVernay‘s Selma, which chronicles the voting-rights march from Selma to Montgomery. David Oyelowo (Lee Daniels’ The Butler) is portraying Martin Luther King Jr., and Tom Wilkinson (Michael Clayton) has been cast as President Lyndon B. Johnson. [THR]

• Danielle Alsonso (Revolution) will play Kevin James‘ conquest in Paul Blart: Mall Cop 2. Andy Fickman (She’s the Man) is directing the Las Vegas-set sequel. [The Wrap]

• Maddie Hasson (Twisted) will join Taryn Manning in A Light Beneath Their Feet, about a high school student who could either attend college or stay at home to care for her bipolar mother. [The Wrap]

• Jared Abrahamson (Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Dog Days) has joined The Submarine Kid, an indie starring Finn Wittrock as a Marine who returns home and gets involved with Lost‘s Emilie de Ravin. Eric Bilitch is making his feature directing debut on the project. He co-wrote the script with Wittrock. [The Wrap]
