How I Met Your Mother went out on top. Monday night’s series finale easily led the night, delivering 12.9 million viewers and a 5.3 rating among adults 18-49.

That marks the show’s most-watched and highest-rated episode of all time, and jumped 51 percent from last week. HIMYM‘s one-hour closer easily topped NBC’s usual Monday winner The Voice, which dipped slightly this week to 12.1 million viewers and a 3.4 rating.

HIMYM led into the series premiere of CBS’ new comedy Friends With Better Lives (or, as CBS’ marketing is trying to push, “#FWBL”). Even with these numbers including a minute of overrun from the HIMYM finale, the new show dropped pretty significantly from its lead-in — 8 million and a 2.7 rating. Be sure to check out HIMYM co-creator talking about the polarizing finale. FULL CHART:
