Prince Featl Zooey Deschanel, ”Fallinlove2night”
After delivering a half hour of purple-hued whimsy in the post-Super Bowl episode of New Girl, Prince recruited Deschanel to duet on this weightless disco jam. Her twee pipes work fine for her folk-pop duo She & Him, but she’s no Apollonia, and she’s eaten by the tune’s propulsive beat. The lesson here? When you’re Prince, you need not stoop to adorkableness. C

The Black Keys, ”Fever”
For dudes with seven Grammys under their belts, Dan Auerbach and Patrick Carney sound like they’re still happy tinkering in the garage. The funk-dusted “Fever” doesn’t have the same hands-in-the-air punch as more high-impact hits like “Lonely Boy,” but the keyboard stomp and Auerbach’s Memphis-blues howl set a tasty-enough precedent for the forthcoming full-length.
