'Breaking Bad' alum Betsy Brandt joins cast of ABC drama 'The Club'
- TV Show
Betsy Brandt is set to return to the drama world: The Breaking Bad veteran, who starred this season on NBC comedy The Michael J. Fox Show, has signed on to ABC’s The Club, the network confirmed Monday. It’s the second dramatic gig this month for Brandt, who just scored a recurring role in the second season of Showtime’s Masters of Sex.
ABC has ordered 13 episodes of the upstairs/downstairs, country club-set drama, and Brandt will star as a newly single mother and legal consultant whose husband — one of the owners of the club — ran off with his stepmother after ruining the club’s finances.
Her Club gig is in second position to The Michael J. Fox Show, meaning that in the unlikely scenario that NBC decided to bring back the low-rated-and-no-longer-on-the-air series for a second season, Brandt would be contractually obligated to stay with that show.
