Billy Joel doesn’t always cover other people’s songs, but when he does…he invites the original band’s singer onstage for lead vocals, apparently.

Joel surprised the audience at his Madison Square Garden concert on Friday night with a special rendition of AC/DC’s “You Shook Me All Night Long” — featuring none other than the rock band’s singer himself, Brian Johnson. In video taken by a concertgoer, Joel calls AC/DC “maybe the best band I ever saw in my life.” Johnson is greeted with wild applause as the familiar opening riffs of the song begin and he belts out the ’80s anthem:

Earlier this week, Joel stopped by the Tonight Show and talked about his monthly residency at MSG. He told Jimmy Fallon that he likes to “mix it up” at every show, playing both his hits and more obscure songs. “I don’t ever want to do the same show twice,” he said. “We’re making it up all the time.”

He certainly shook things up last night!
