Hipsters, beware — music festival-goers are becoming a favorite target of Jimmy Kimmel.

In front of an audience at SXSW in Austin last night — Jimmy Kimmel Live has been taping from the festival since Monday — the late-night host noted that “people who come to music festivals pride themselves on knowing who the new acts are, even if they don’t know who the new acts are.” To prove his point, Kimmel sent a “Lie Witness News” camera crew into the streets of Austin to ask music fans their thoughts on totally made up artists, including Contact Dermatitis, Neil Patrick Harassment, female rappers Heavy Flow, and a whole slew of geeky Game of Thrones-inspired bands, including Daenerys Targaryen and the Dragon Ponies.

The best responses are by those interviewees seeking cool points so badly, they end up creating entire mythologies surrounding the fake bands. For instance, when asked what she had heard about Tanya and the Hardings, one woman responds: “A lot of men have been talking about them saying that they’re really impressed with them; they’re not usually fans of female groups but they really made a statement.”

This isn’t the first time Kimmel has poked fun at wannabe music know-it-alls. Here’s his equally funny “Lie Witness News” bit from Coachella last year:
