'Orange Is the New Black': Get a first look at season 2
Black is (almost) back! And from the looks of things, not much has changed.
The first photos from Orange Is the New Black‘s second season are equal parts comedy and drama. The first image is all about the scene that closed out season 1, when Piper took out all of her bare-fisted anger on Tiffany. To be fair, Tiffany did come at Piper first — but as we can see, it’s Piper who’s left standing with blood on her hands. And by the look on her faced, we’d bet she just got caught. We can only hope she spends a little time in maximum security, if only so that we can see Miss Claudette again.
In the second image, we see Red once again standing her ground. This time, she’s face to face with a new character, Lorraine Toussaint’s Vee. If we had to guess what comes next, it’s that Vee quickly learns you don’t mess with Red — unless you want to eat dirt (and/or tampon sandwiches) for the rest of your sentence. Or until you somehow win her over. Also, are they fighting in a greenhouse? Perhaps we’ll be getting a few new settings in season 2.
And with the third image comes the kind of group comedy we love from this show. It’s not hard to guess what’s happening here — see the “Mock Job Fair” sign — but we would love to know what job Sophia is going for in that hot little number. Also, is Morello’s dream job to be a sailor from the 50’s? Let’s hope that these outfits were given to them for some sort of skit. Actually, let’s not.
Orange Is the New Black‘s 13-episode second season will be available Friday, June 6 on Netflix.
Orange Is the New Black
Jenji Kohan’s absorbing ensemble dramedy, based on Piper Kerman’s memoir of the same name, takes viewers inside the walls of Litchfield, a minimum security women’s prison where nothing’s as simple as it seems—especially the inmates.
