CBS renews 18 series, including more 'Two and a Half Men'
CBS renewed 18 shows today, including another season of Two and a Half Men as well as the new sitcoms Mom and The Millers.
Other comedies that are coming back for another season are 2 Broke Girls and Mike & Molly. (A new three-year deal for The Big Bang Theory was announced yesterday). A total of nine dramas were renewed: NCIS, NCIS: Los Angeles, Person of Interest, CSI; Hawaii Five-0, Blue Bloods, Criminal Minds, Elementary and The Good Wife. CBS also picked up another season each of The Amazing Race and Undercover Boss, as well as more 60 Minutes.
Two more cycles of Survivor had already been announced.
“The best way to launch new shows in the fall and throughout the season is to surround them with a strong and stable lineup of successful series,” said Entertainment Chairman Nina Tassler in a statement. “The shows we’re picking up today cut across every night of the week and feature genre leaders, time period winners and the most-watched shows on broadcast television.”
Three shows remain on the proverbial bubble: The Mentalist and the new series Intelligence and The Crazy Ones. The quality — or lack thereof — of the 2014-15 fall development slate should decide their fate come May.
