Jimmy Fallon and Stephen Colbert are two of the most popular hosts in late night. So it’s no surprise that when these guys get together, TV magic happens.

The Colbert Report host stopped by Fallon’s Tonight Show on Friday to promote his new movie, Mr. Peabody and Sherman (Colbert voices the character Paul Peterson). In the clip below, the Comedy Central star talks about his seating chart surprise during the White House’s recent state dinner for French President François Hollande — Colbert was placed at the head table, next to first lady Michelle Obama — and admits that he tried to carry on a conversation with the guest of honor in French, but had no idea what the president was saying:

Later, Fallon challenged Colbert to a game of Truth or Truth. (“Have you ever played Truth or Dare?” Fallon asked. “It’s not really like that. But it’s close.”) Unsurprisingly, Fallon can’t keep it together when Colbert one-ups him in the stone-cold seriousness department, which totally makes this sketch:

You have to think this must have been at least somewhat rehearsed. Still, Colbert’s simple “no” when Fallon asks, “Your underwear: Men’s or women’s?” proves too much for the Tonight host — and us.
