Ellen's post-Oscar show breaks records
Did everyone tune in to hear how she pulled off the pizza gig?
Ellen DeGeneres’ first daytime show after the Oscars posted its highest ratings ever, averaging a 4.8 rating/11 share in overnights, according to Nielsen. The show is 11 years old.
That’s a full ratings point higher than the series previous high that DeGeneres earned a decade ago (3.8 on Jan. 26, 2004).
DeGeneres hosted a live Post-Oscar episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show Monday and welcomed Academy Award winners Cate Blanchett, Jared Leto and Lupita Nyong’o. She also chatted about the big night and how she pulled off the selfie that broke Twitter records. The star-studded shot that DeGeneres took in the aisle of the Dolby Theater was retweeted 3.14 million times.
She also talked with pizza delivery man Edgar Martirosyan, who received $600 in tips that she collected the night before. She also added another $400. (Lucky dude!) See it below:
Monday’s special episode was also DeGeneres’ highest-rated in women 18-49 (2.1/11) and women 25-54 (2.7/13), according to overnights.
