On Sunday night, Hollywood will tip its hat to itself once again, this time as the finest in film are feted. But underneath that giant hat is a lot of hair that needs to be let down. And down it will come on the 9th annual Jimmy Kimmel Live: After the Oscars special, which will feature oodles of celebrities poking fun at themselves/the entertainment industry in some grandly orchestrated comedy bit. Past specials have featured such star-stuffed segments as the Hottie Body Hump Club, the Handsome Men’s Club, Movie: The Movie and its sequel, Movie: The Movie: 2V.

This year’s spectacle boasts plenty of marquee names, including past Kimmel conspirators like Tom Hanks, Meryl Streep, Martin Scorsese, and Gary Oldman, and newcomers like Oscar host Ellen DeGeneres, Chris Hemsworth, Liam Hemsworth, Christoph Waltz, Ben Kingsley, Mandy Patinkin, Abbie Cornish, Barkhad Abdi, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Seth Rogen, Morgan Freeman, Andy Garcia, Queen Latifah, Anjelica Huston, and alleged Star Wars villain Adam Driver, among others.

What is the theme of Sunday’s gag? The word is mum. But here are three photos to get you guessing. The first (above) seems to put Mr. Hanks on a quest of some sort. (For overhead lighting? To crack a Da Vinci-esque code? Or is this just an elaborate way into another Toddlers & Tiaras spoof? ) The second photo has Ms. Zeta-Jones — no stranger to a song-and-dance routine — dressed up as the Tooth Fairy. In related dental news, the third photo shows Mr. Gordon-Levitt in the throes of a painful extraction. Or perhaps he is starring in a Marathon Man reboot.

Is it safe for you to speculate on what the H is going on with this year’s bit? Probably not. But start theorizing below anyway.

ABC’s JKL Oscars extravaganza airs after the local late news on the East Coast (10 p.m. PT) and also features a special appearance by Kevin Spacey.

Update: Jimmy Kimmel Live has released a 30-second clip from the segment.
