'Flowers in the Attic' sequel casts Cathy's abusive lover
Petals on the Wind has cast another key role, plus there’s now a production start date for the hotly anticipated film.
Lifetime’s Flowers in the Attic sequel has signed Van Helsing actor Will Kemp to play prima ballerina Cathy Dollanganger’s abusive dancer boyfriend Julian Marquet. His character is a dance troupe’s volatile male lead who aggressively woos new member Cathy.
The Petals storyline picks up a decade after the Dollanganger kids escaped Foxworth Hall at the end of the first film, which delivered 6.1 million viewers for Lifetime last month. Earlier this week, Once Upon a Time actress Rose McIver was booked as “the new Cathy” (replacing Kiernan Shipka, who played Cathy from ages 12 through 15 in Flowers).
McIver and Kemp join returning stars Heather Graham and Ellen Burstyn, who will reprise their roles as Corrine Dollanganger and Olivia Foxworth, respectively. The replacement actor for Cathy’s brother Christopher has not yet been cast.
Production on Petals will begin Feb. 25 in Los Angeles.
