Amy Adams responds to Valentino controversy: 'Truly appalling'
This is a major faux pas for a fashion house.
Amy Adams attended the funeral of Philip Seymour Hoffman over the weekend. Hours after the funeral, design house Valentino took a paparazzi photo of Adams entering the church and blasted it out on social media, touting that the actress was carrying a Valentino bag.
Valentino USA issued a statement on Twitter the next day in light of the company’s insensitive press release. “We regret releasing a photo of Amy Adams with a Valentino bag. Unaware of the circumstances it was a mistake and we apologize to Ms. Adams.”
Adams’ rep also clarified to E! News that the Oscar nominee “is not a paid spokesperson for Valentino, and the suggestion she would use this moment to participate in a promotion is truly appalling.”
