Michael J. Fox returning to 'The Good Wife'

Just a day after NBC yanked The Michael J. Fox Show from its schedule, CBS’ confirms the actor will return to The Good Wife.

Fox will reprise his role as Louis Canning and will appear in multiple episodes later in the current fifth season of the show with his character sparring with Alicia Florrick (Julianna Margulies). Good Wife returns to original episodes March 9.

NBC pulled the low-rated The Michael J. Fox Show from its Thursday lineup after airing 15 of its 22 produced episodes. The network says the remaining episodes will eventually air. NBC reps say The Michael J. Fox Show wasn’t technically canceled and the remaining episodes will eventually air. Though the timing on the announcement suggests a strong connection between the two events, we’re told Fox actually closed on his deal to return to The Good Wife last week.
