Ryan Phillippe is headed to ABC.

The 54, I Know What You Did Last Summer and Damages actor is in final negotiations for the lead role in ABC’s drama series Secrets & Lies.

Based on an Australian mystery series, the pilot is about “a family man who finds the body of a young boy and quickly becomes the prime murder suspect. He has no choice but to try to find the real killer as his marriage, his kids, his reputation, and his sanity are all at stake.” Barbie Kligman (Private Practice) is the writer-producer and Charles McDougall (Desperate Housewives) directs the pilot.

Phillippe got his big break in 1992 on another TV show, One Life to Live, where he portrayed the first gay teen character on daytime TV.
