JAG actress Zoe McLellan has landed a series regular role on the new NCIS spinoff set in New Orleans.
McLellan will play Special Agent Brody, a “mid-western transplant, the show’s fish-out-of-water character. She come to New Orleans looking for a fresh start and a safe haven to heal old wounds.” This break comes just hours after announcing Scott Bakula is returning to broadcast as the show’s male lead. We’re told the rest of the characters are more of an ensemble cast, which now includes McLellan.
Longtime NCIS fans might remember McLellan played Navy Petty Officer Jennifer Coates on JAG from 2001-05. So here she is playing a different character in the same universe since NCIS is a spin-off of JAG (A canon paradox! The vortex is now open!).
McLellan was most recently in ABC’s 2007 drama Dirty Sexy Money and since then has had guest spots on shows like The Mentalist, House and Royal Pains.
The NCIS: New Orleans two-part pilot will air as part of NCIS later this season. Executive producers include Gary Glasberg and Mark Harmon.
