• Colin Farrell and Rachel Weisz (The Constant Gardner) have signed on to star in The Lobster, set in a dystopian future where finding a partner is “a matter of life and death.” Dogtooth director Yorgos Lanthimos is making his English-language debut on the project, which also stars Ben Whishaw (Cloud Atlas) and Lea Seydoux (Blue Is the Warmest Color). • Miles Teller (The Spectacular Now) and Aaron Eckhart (The Dark Knight) are attached to star in Bleed for This, about boxing champion Vinny Pazienza who recovered and took the ring again a year after a devastating car wreck. Eckhart will play Kevin Rooney, the trainer to Teller’s boxer. Writer-director Ben Younger (Boiler Room) is set to direct the project, and Martin Scorsese has signed on to produce. [THR]

Ben Kurland, who appeared in The Artist, will join Jonathan Bennett (aka Aaron Samuels) in the indie horror comedy Deadly Retreat about a group of young professionals who venture to a cabin in the woods and begin killing one another, completely unaware that a serial killer is hanging around outside. Jon Artigo will direct off of his own script. [The Wrap]

• Country music star Travis Tritt will reportedly narrate the Walt Disney biopic As Dreamers Do and contribute an original song to the independent project, starring Olan Rogers as a young Disney. [The Wrap]
