It’s Miley Cyrus, y’all!

On the singer’s MTV Unplugged concert Wednesday night, Cyrus said she always missed her home in Nashville, so she tried to “bring Nashville back here!” and turn her L.A. taping into a hoedown. (And, yes, she made a joke about being a “ho” “down” so we don’t have to.) But this wasn’t a Billy Ray concert circa 1993; instead, the country theme manifested itself with plenty of “y’alls,” a barn aesthetic, and — of course — a horse made of people.

The 45-minute show asked viewers a simple question: What Miley Cyrus do you want? Do you want the girl who’s got a human horse and brings little people up on stage with her while wearing ridiculous costumes and twerking on everything that moves? Check out videos one and two below, and be outraged/amused to your heart’s content. Or do you prefer the singer stripped down, performing tracks with real vocal power? That version of the singer appeared as well, belting “Wrecking Ball” and some other ballads on a stage free of little people and horses.

Regardless of the Miley you’re looking for, you’ll find it below. Pro tip: The red-and-white checkered outfit is a cheat sheet that the song will be raunchy. The “classier” (?) all-denim ensemble means she’s a serious artist with a ballad about lost love Liam Hemsworth to share with you.

1.) It’s a well-known rule of Cyrus: If you spot a free-standing object in the first moment of the song, Cyrus will twerk against it by the third.

2.) “Get It Right”: Otherwise known as The Time Miley Cyrus Simulated Giving Herself an Orgasm By Riding a Horse Made of People.

3.) Cyrus gives a shout-out to “Aunt Dolly” before once again performing an upbeat rendition of Parton’s classic hit “Jolene.” Cyrus has had great success covering this tune before — most notably in her 2012 “Backyard Sessions” — and again the track provides a great showcase for both Cyrus’ voice and energy.

4.) A vocal high point, Cyrus announced that “Adore You” will be her next single, meaning she’s continuing the ballad push after “Wrecking Ball.” Also, take a moment to notice the country-fied costumes here. She’s got her backup singers in all-denim looks as well. Paging Britney and Justin Timberlake!

5.) Congrats, Miley. Madonna has welcomed you into the Powerful Women of Pop Culture Club (other members Madonna has christened include Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, and Lady Gaga. Maybe one day, Katy Perry!) The duo performed Madge’s hit “Don’t Tell Me” mashed up with “We Can’t Stop.” Yes, Glee is mad they didn’t think of it first, and yes, it ends with Cyrus getting Madonna to stick out her tongue. We all share the blame for giving the tongue attention in the first place.

She’s just bein’ Miley!

Discussion questions for the group: How are you feeling about Miley Cyrus these days? Did you think this was a good showcase for the singer? And, most importantly, now that you’ve seen it, is it possible to ever forget Cyrus and the horse?
