Grammys score 2nd largest audience in decades
UPDATED: Sunday night’s 56th annual Grammy Awards delivered a big audience. Updated numbers from CBS put the Grammys at 28.5 million viewers, squeaking up from last year’s 28.4 million viewers. CBS notes this is the show’s second-largest audience in 21 years.
Meanwhile, few RSVP’d for The Bachelor wedding. Sean and Catherine’s nuptials gathered only 6.2 million viewers and a 1.6 rating among the 18-49. Given that the special faced both the Grammys and NBC’s Pro-Bowl, competition was extremely tough. Plus, Sean and Catherine whumped Ashley and J.P.’s wedding in December of 2012 by 60 percent — so take that, Ashley and J.P.!
