NBC is hoping that Rob Lowe can serve up more laughs on its air even after leaving Parks and Recreation.

The network has ordered a pilot for the single-camera comedy The Pro, which is set at a country club and stars Lowe as an ex-tennis doubles champion who reunites with his former partner after a public feud that resulted in both of them bottoming out. Lowe also will serve as executive producer along with Peter Huyck and Alex Gregory (The Larry Sanders Show), who will write the pilot, and Todd Holland (Malcolm in the Middle), who will direct.

The Jan. 30 episode of Parks contains the final appearances of Lowe and Rashida Jones, who also just locked up her next gig(s). She’ll star in a TBS police comedy pilot from Steve Carell and executive-produce the romantic comedy pilot A to Z for NBC.
