Have mercy! For Super Bowl ad, John Stamos is reuniting with...
I’ll give you a hint: Think dudes… and San Francisco… and something tailor-made for the 20-something demographic.
No, Dannon Oikos pitchman Stamos isn’t teaming up with the cast of HBO’s Looking for a new Super Bowl ad. Instead, he’s apparently joining forces with a few guys near and dear to his heart. You might just say he’d like to shoot commercials with them… forever.
Okay — while I am morally opposed to the idea of teasers for commercials (let alone teasers for teasers for commercials), I have to admit that it’s nice to see Stamos, Bob Saget, and Dave Coulier together again. (Stamos even calls the other two his “brothers” in a behind-the-scenes clip; aww! Everywhere you look, there’s a heart!)
Though the materials posted on OikosBromance.com — yes, this specific commercial has its own website — make it seem as though the spot will feature only the Uncle Jesse/Danny/Joey trifecta, one can only hope that a few more familiar faces from Full House may stop by in the full ad. Maybe the gang invited Scott Weinger, a.k.a. Steve, over for game day! Maybe they’ll realize that the sportscaster they’re watching looks an awful lot like Lori Loughlin! Maybe their party gets crashed by an all-grown-up Andrea Barber, better known as Kimmy Gibbler! And given Oikos’ “Greek” origins, a beyond-the-grave visit from Papouli‘s ghost would be more than appropriate.
The ad’s possibilities are endless, though one thing seems certain: The Olsen twins will have nothing to do with it. Ooh, but maybe somebody managed to convince Elizabeth to show up instead. Can you say upgrade?
