Lupita Nyong’o may have gotten the lion’s share of attention, but another actress made an impressive awards season red carpet debut at Sunday’s Golden Globes.

Orphan Black star Tatiana Maslany, a nominee in the category of Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series – Drama, glittered in a beaded platinum gown from British designer Jenny Packham’s Spring/Summer 2014 collection.

The inspiration behind Maslany’s ensemble?

“I wanted to be as far away from the look of a psycho Ukrainian murderer,” joked the 28 year-old actress.

But seriously, folks… “[This was] the most beautiful dress that I tried on. I thought it was so elegant and classic Old Hollywood, but also so comfortable. I thought I’d feel confidant if I felt like I could move, breathe, even eat instead of sucking it in for five hours,” Maslany explained. “And I need to eat. I am not one of those people who skips eating. This is so wild. It is exhausting, so I can’t imagine being at one of these things and not being rewarded with food. I was so relieved when I heard they feed you at the Globes.”

Before she could sit down to dinner, Maslany had to pass through a gauntlet of reporters asking her questions about season two of the BBC America show.

“It is a clone show, so I think you can logically guess that there will be some new clones,” she hinted to EW. “I have so much input on who the characters are. It is a dream role and I am happy with the characters I have too. There is so much to go one. More clones or less clones, doesn’t matter. I’m just happy to have the clones.”

On season one of Orphan Black Maslany played a soccer mom, a PhD student, and an assassin, but the actress’ Globes look had her thinking about a new alter ego — one who gets to wear designer clothes.

“This could be glam clone,” she said.
