Golden Globes viewership at 10-year high
UPDATED: Sunday night’s 71st annual Golden Globe Awards hit a 10-year high in the ratings among total viewers and a seven-year best among adults 18-49.
The telecast had a strong 20.9 million viewers and a 6.5 rating among adults 18-49. Compared to last year, the Awards were up 6 percent in total viewers and 2 percent in the demo. This marks the top-rated awards show on the Big 4 networks since ABC’s Academy Awards last February.
The boost could be seen as another endorsement of hosts Tina Fey and Amy Poehler, who hosted the show for the second year in a row. This is also the second year in a row the ratings went up. The duo are signed to host the awards next year.
