Golden Globes: And the award for most tweeted-about moment goes to...
While the Hollywood A-listers walked the red carpet, took their seats, drank their booze, and accepted their awards, the rest of us turned on our televisions and took to Twitter to discuss absolutely everything — Did you hear there was sewage on the red carpet? How hot does Matthew McConaughey look? Congrats, Breaking Bad!
So just how many thoughts did viewers have about the show? Based on the number of tweets during the broadcast, about 2.1 million. Specifically, people were talking about Breaking Bad winning Best Television Series – Drama, Bryan Cranston winning Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Series – Drama, and Jared Leto taking the stage after winning Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role in a Motion Picture. All three moments received more than 20,000 tweets per minute.
And when it came to the most tweeted-about stars, Golden Globe winners Jennifer Lawrence, Jared Leto, and Amy Poehler came out on top. Apparently, neither Johnny Depp’s blond hair nor Diane Keaton’s singing were memorable enough for tweeters.
