Spotted: Blue Jasmine supporting actress nominee Sally Hawkins chatting with fellow Woody Allen alum Mariel Hemingway. Also working the room were the entire Girls cast. Zosia Mamet posed with boyfriend Evan Jonigkeit, who will appear in this summer’s X-Men: Days of Future Past. Also seen: Judd Apatow and wife Leslie Mann, who were among the first to arrive, and the quartet of Martin Scorsese, Jonah Hill, Chris Noth and Josh Charles. Julia Louis-Dreyfus and her husband Brad Hall seen talking to talent agent Jeremy Zimmer. Rob Lowe, with his jacket off, was chowing down and texting. Speaking of the food: Root vegetables were all the rage at the HBO party with a special emphasis on brussel sprouts and cauliflower.
Also spotted: Gwendoline Christie and Emilia Clarke from Game of Thrones, and director/actor Mike White. Megan Mulallay was seen sporting a red china-doll look with husband Nick Offerman. Diane Keaton arrived, having changed out of her tuxedo into a plaid tie and checkered shirt. And a beret. Chris Pine was drinking a martini. He and Wolf of Wall Street star Margot Robbie had entered the event through a side door. Former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson was also in the house, was congratulated by a fan for his HBO special. He posed for a picture with Angela Bassett on the red carpet outside the party. Michael Douglas skipped the red carpet, just showed off his Globe for Behind the Candelabra before entering the party, as did Elisabeth Moss. Meanwhile, Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Matt Damon posed for pictures together, as did Jonathan Groff and his costars on HBOs new show Looking. Sarah Paulson and Mamie Gummer (daughter of Meryl Streep) caused a traffic jam on the stairway leading down into the party, talking to each other.
InStyle/Warner Bros. Party
Breaking Bad and Michael J. Fox Show star Betsy Brandt spotted having an animated conversation on the couches.
E! host Ross Matthews holds court with five dapper men in tuxes. Nate Berkus, hair perfectly tousled (natch), grabs a drink at the bar. Idris Elba, en route to the Fox party, stops to pose for a fan photo.
Some observations: 1) Jayma Mays looks like a real-life Disney princess in her blush pink gown and perfect updo. 2) Backstreet Boy AJ McLean never leaves home without his fedora.
