Drake, ”Trophies”
“This s— is not a love song,” Drake insists throughout this stompingly triumphant bonus track from his Nothing Was the Same sessions. That’s kind of a lie, though: It’s basically a love letter to himself — the sound of one hand clapping, because the other one’s holding a flute of champagne. A-Ray Rahman

Lea Michele, ”Battlefield”
Michele follows the supple single “Cannonball” (from Louder, due in March) by putting her hand on her heart and belting out an earnest piano ballad whose drama-club doldrums are overcome by her powerful voice. BKyle Anderson
