Gal Gadot isn't worried about Wonder Woman's cup size
If you’re someone who questioned the casting of Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman in Zack Snyder’s upcoming Batman Vs. Superman because the Fast & Furious star isn’t exactly buxom, she has her response ready. Asked by an Israeli entertainment show if Wonder Woman’s notorious comic-book shape would change, Gadot answered in her native Hebrew: “Hmm. I represent the Wonder Woman of the new world. Breasts… anyone can buy for 9000 shekels and everything is fine. By the way, Wonder Woman is Amazonian, and historically accurate Amazonian women actually had only one breast. So, if I’d really go ‘by the book’, it’d be problematic.” (That’s as good as Idris Elba’s response when he was forced to address a self-proclaimed “mini, mini uproar” when he was first cast as Heimdall (known as the “White God”) in Thor: “Thor’s mythical, right? Thor has a hammer that flies to him when he clicks his fingers. That’s okay, but the color of my skin is wrong?”)
Gadot did say she expects to put on body mass elsewhere* through a training regimen that includes Kung Fu, kickboxing, swords, and jujutsu among other things.
She also explained how she learned she’d landed the role amidst long flights from Israel to Los Angeles for another project and had to keep it a secret: “I can’t make loud noises, and so I lean on a window, bending down to my legs, and just try to understand it all,” she said. “I got to the hotel at midnight and in the morning I was supposed to wake up for a shooting, and I remember myself lying in my bed alone in the dark staring at the ceiling and saying to myself, ‘This isn’t true! It can’t be! Where’s the champagne?'”
*As one of my sister’s best friends learned when she was hoping to increase her bust size to fill out her prom dress, lifting weights works in reverse.
