Is designer Diane von Furstenberg filming a reality show?

Earlier this week, rumors began circulating that the designer — whose effortlessly chic pieces are worn by actresses like Reese Witherspoon, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Allison Williams — is currently in pre-production on a “transformational docu-series for the millennial fashionista.”

A casting notice posted by VPE TV calls for “smart, savvy, and sophisticated people with a great sense of style” who “appear to be [ages] 20 to 25.” reports that the fashion reality competition series is being produced by Electus — the company behind Fashion Star and Mob Wives — andwill air on a major cable network. Filming begins spring 2014 and contestants will be trained and compensated as brand ambassadors.

A representative for DVF told EW; “We currently have projects in development, but nothing to announce at this moment. As soon as we have more details, we will be sure to share.”

This wouldn’t be the first time von Furstenberg has played a role in a reality series. Employees at the label were reportedly not pleased when Whitney Port joined the DVF staff as part of her starring role on The City, MTV’s spin-off of The Hills, in 2008. “She doesn’t really work. She is hardly ever in the office,” a source told the NY Post in 2009. “[DVF staffers] can’t get their work done because MTV tells them they can’t move any thing at their work stations. They do so many reshoots that everything has to look exactly the same every day.”
