Dear lord, Biblical miniseries are now firmly a trend.

CBS has The Dovekeepers, its ancient Israel project. NBC has ordered its Bible sequel A.D. Now Fox is developing 7 Deadly Sins from writer-director David Mamet (Glengarry Glen Ross).

The Mamet mini is billed as a “limited drama series based on the seven deadly sins, which form the backdrop for a tapestry of interconnected stories about the human condition through David Mamet’s unique lens.” Mamet will executive produce, as as well as write and direct the first episode and write at least two additional episodes. The miniseries is, of course, seven hours long (unless Fox gets greedy and orders more — but that would be a sin, wouldn’t it?).

Can’t wait for The CW’s now-inevitable sexy Adam & Eve project.
