• Joseph Gordon-Levitt (Don Jon) is nearing a deal to produce a big screen adaptation of Sandman and is rumored to be in talks to direct and star in the comic book adaptation as the character Morpheus. David S. Goyer (The Dark Knight) is penning the adaptation of Neil Gaiman’s classic graphic novel for Warner Bros. Gordon-Levitt can be seen next in Sin City: A Dame to Kill For (out Aug. 22, 2014). [Deadline; BadassDigest]

• Emma Thompson (Saving Mr. Banks), Judy Greer (The Descendants), and Dean Norris (Breaking Bad) have joined the cast of Jason Reitman’s Men, Women & Children. Adam Sandler and Jennifer Garner also star in the pic based on Chad Kultgen’s novel. [THR]

• Jack Reynor (What Richard Did) will star as a taxi driver who gets mixed up in human trafficking as a last resort to save his mother (Toni Collette) in Glassland, the second feature from director Gerard Barrett (Pilgrim Hill). Reynor might not be a household name just yet, but that could change for the Irish actor after Transformers: Age of Extinction hits theaters on June 27, 2013. [THR]

Luke Goss (Death Race: Inferno), Bokeem Woodbine (Total Recall), and RZA (The Man with the Iron Fists) are set to star in the military thriller AWOL 72 about a Russian mobster, an LAPD detective and an assassin trying to hunt down an AWOL Marine who knows too much. Christian Sesma (Shoot the Hero) is set to direct.
