Kristen Stewart is the face of Chanel's latest campaign
When Kristen Stewart refuses to crack a smile for photographers on the red carpet, is it because she’s being surly or is she just practicing her Blue Steel?
This morning it was announced that the actress has scored a coveted celebrity modeling gig with Chanel. Stewart will star in the campaign for the French fashion label’s Métiers d’Art Paris-Dallas 2013-2014 collection, which was presented in Dallas, Texas on Tuesday. The Twilight star sat alongside Dakota Fanning, Lily Collins, Dakota Fanning, and Zoe Kravitz at the show, where models dressed in Karl Lagerfeld’s Americana-inspired pieces walked down a runway that looked like the inside of a barn.
Each year, Chanel’s Métiers d’Art collection is inspired by a particular geographic location, making its debut in that city. Does this year’s Dallas theme mean that Stewart will look cowboy chic in her ad campaign?
We’ll have to wait until the ads debut in May 2014.
Stewart met Lagerfeld at a photo shoot in Paris in January 2012, according to British Vogue. Earlier this year, she attended the Chanel show during Couture Fashion Week in Paris.
The actress — who already serves as the face of Balenciaga’s Florabotanica fragrance — follows in the footsteps of Tilda Swinton, who starred in Chanel’s Métiers d’Art Paris-Edinburgh campaign last year. Blake Lively, Keira Knightly, and Diane Kruger have also represented the brand.
