Vin Diesel has broken his silence following the tragic death of his Fast and Furious co-star Paul Walker with a short tribute posted on his Facebook page today.

“Pablo, I wish you could see the world right now… and the profound impact, your full life has had on it, on Us… on me…” the actor wrote, referring to Walker by a nickname, before also calling him by his Fast character’s name. “I will always love you Brian, as the brother you were… on and off screen.”

He accompanied the statement with a photo of him and Walker and a quote from Thomas Campbell that read, “To live in the hearts we leave behind, is not to die.”

Walker, best known for portraying Brian O’Conner in the Fast and Furious franchise, died in a car accident on Saturday afternoon in Valencia, California.

Over the weekend, several of Walker’s former co-stars also expressed their condolences via social media, and on Monday, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, who has appeared in the recent Fast films, told EW, “With Fast Five, even though I had known the majority of the actors over the years, they were essentially a tight-knit family and a very strong unit…Paul was very welcoming, and a very calming presence on set.”
