Miley Cyrus says it was real pot at EMAs, calls herself big feminist
Miley Cyrus is no poser: In an interview on British radio, the pop star revealed that she was indeed smoking real pot onstage at the MTV Europe Music Awards, THR reports.
But Cyrus insists she wasn’t trying to engineer yet another publicity-generating to-do. “It’s not something that I think about,” the “Wrecking Ball” singer said. “I was just walking out of my room and then I was like, ‘Oh, I have this in my bag. That will be really funny.'”
“And I didn’t say anything to anybody,” she continued. “It’s not that I think about that… and I don’t tell anyone I’m gonna do it. Some people I think overthink so much … That’s not why I do it. I just did it mostly because I knew the fans in Amsterdam would love it, and they started going crazy when I did it … But I don’t really care what the media says because I don’t Google myself, so I don’t know what they say. And I don’t care.”
And, like a pro, she made sure there wasn’t any evidence left after the show: “Afterwards we had the joint and we’re all, ‘Should we keep this as, like, the joint?’ And then we’re like, ‘No, it’s fine, just smoke it, just finish it off.'” The Smithsonian must be crestfallen.
Elsewhere, in another interview on British radio, Cyrus talked with the venerable BBC about how she considers herself one of the planet’s leading feminists.
“I feel like I’m one of the biggest feminists in the world because I tell women to not be scared of anything,” said the pop crusader. “Girls are all beautiful.”
“Guys get to show their t—ies on the beach, why can’t we?” she added. “I don’t understand the double standard of life.”
We’re not sure if this was before or after she let a journalist use her butt as a bongo.
