Hollywood Game Night is coming home for the holidays.
NBC’s summer game show series — which is a must-watch for any fan of the pop culture zeitgeist and actual legitimate celebrities (not the celestial enigmas on Dancing With the “Stars”) — will air a special holiday episode on December 2 after a two-hour episode of The Voice. Nine more episodes will follow in 2014.
Among the celebrities competing? “We have Gavin DeGraw and Ray Romano and Rachel Bilson and Cheryl Hines and [married couple] Andy Roddick and Brooklyn Decker—on different teams, of course,” host Jane Lynch tells EW. “We have some new games that are great, along with some old games, of course.”
The show features two teams of four, comprised of three celebrities and one “civilian” (whose pop culture mastery OR ignorance may or may not make you want to throw something at your TV). The teams compete in entertainment-themed party games with titles like “Lil’ Picassos,” “Celebrity Fusion,” and what’s perhaps become the show’s signature game, “How Do You Doo?”
Last year’s celeb line-up included Amy Poehler, Max Greenfield, Alyson Hannigan, Jason Sudeikis, Lisa Kudrow, Aubrey Plaza, Martin Short, Kristen Bell, Al Roker, Matthew Perry, Maya Rudolph, Minnie Driver, Nick Cannon, Kristin Chenoweth, Jason Alexander, Molly Shannon, Fred Armisen, Sean Hayes, Kenan Thompson and Felicity Huffman (and Ann B. Davis as Alice).
