Clearly, viewers don’t seem too concerned about the screwy plot twists and how Brody is pretty much MIA this season: Homeland earned its highest ratings of the season Sunday on Showtime, despite heavy competition from the World Series.

Episode 5 averaged 2 million viewers at 9 p.m., up 13 percent versus the previous week. After two airings, the Claire Danes drama ended up pulling in 2.73 million viewers, up 9 percent versus last week (2.51 million).

Showtime says Homeland is on pace to complete its most watched season ever with 6.7 million weekly viewers across multiple platforms, up 25 percent versus season season 2. Wow.

Meanwhile, the premium net’s new drama Masters of Sex averaged 1.01 million at 10 p.m. and 1.32 million for the night. Season to date, it’s averaging 5.4 million across multiple platforms.
