Strike Back, the Cinemax global action-thriller about two dashing and deadly members of an elite counterterrorism unit, is getting a fourth and final season. Cinemax/HBO, which co-produces the series with Left Bank and Sky, has ordered 10 new episodes that will premiere in 2014. Philip Winchester plays a steely British special-forces soldier and Sullivan Stapleton, who is the star of the upcoming 300 sequel, is the more renegade former U.S. Delta Force commando. In the season 3 finale, which aired Oct. 18, the duo prevented a major attack at a U.S. military base.

This series, which began playing on Cinemax in 2011, was based on the 2010 Sky TV original that starred Andrew Lincoln (The Walking Dead) and Richard Armitage (The Hobbit). That earlier incarnation lasted just six episodes, in part because its leading men left to star in high-profile projects. But it’s currently being re-broadcast on Cinemax as Strike Back: Origins.
