NBC’s Dracula showed a little, yes, ratings bite Friday night: 5.3 million viewers and 1.8 rating among adults 18-49.

That matches Drac‘s lead-in, the third season return of Grimm, and easily wins its ungodly 10 p.m. Friday time slot. As for 9 p.m.’s Grimm, that number is down slightly from its special Monday return last fall.

Neither supernatural NBC drama won the night — that was ABC’s Shark Tank, which had a strong 7.3 million viewers and a 2.0 rating.

Also Friday: The CW’s The Carrie Diaries returned for its second season to what must be the lowest rating ever for an original in-season drama debut on the network: 837,000 viewers and a 0.3 rating. The episode was titled “Wine Some, Lose Some,” and that premiere is definitely a loss.

For more, see yesterday’s deep dive post on how Dracula raises the stakes for NBC this fall (that pun was actually accidental, swear!). Also, here’s our reaction to the pilot. And what’s up with that photo, above? That’s some pretty nutty marketing art for ultra-conservative NBC, I like it.
