Lily Rabe Channels Stevie Nicks on 'Coven'
The actress' character returns from the dead looking like a famous rock star
Viewers of American Horror Story: Coven, Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk‘s New Orleans-set witch drama, were shocked when Lily Rabe‘s witch character, Misty Day, returned to the show Oct. 16 after seemingly being burned alive the previous week. Just as surprising: Misty’s passion for a certain rock goddess. ”She’s obsessed with Stevie Nicks, and so am I,” says Rabe, 31, who explains that co-creator Murphy is a friend of Nicks’ and personally asked to use her music on the series. ”Stevie really is [Misty’s] hero, her greatest inspiration, and who she lives for.” She’s also her style icon: ”That [Misty] is living out in the swamp but still manages to find her platform boots is the greatest thing ever.” Rabe, who played mother to a Frankenstein infant made of dead baby parts and a nun possessed by the devil in previous seasons of AHS, says she’s prepared for more twists in Misty’s story. ”This is my third season, so it takes a lot for me to sort of go, Whoa! Your insane threshold is very high in the most wonderful way. That’s why you love doing the show. It’s thrilling reading the scripts because you know you’re going to get to do all this delicious, complicated stuff…. There are just no rules!”
