[SPOILER ALERT: Read on only if you have already watched Wednesday’s episode of Survivor: Blood vs. Water]

It was a bad week to be a returning player on Survivor: Blood Vs. Water. Let us count the ways:

• Candice came in last place in her Redemption island duel, losing to husband John and Brad, which meant she was eliminated from the game.

• The returning players tribe of Galang lost their very first challenge. And they didn’t just lose it. They were dominated.

• Even after losing, Galang seemed poised to vote out the one newbie on the tribe — Rupert’s wife, Laura Boneham — until Aras opined that “Easy votes are often the dumbest votes in this game” and decided to engineer Laura Morett’s ouster instead. This was done in the hopes that Laura could eliminate Monica’s husband Brad at Redemption Island, solidifying Monica’s place in their Galang alliance of five. Laura Morett’s blank expression of pure shock upon being voted out said it all. No doubt she was thinking to herself, I gave that bastard a backrub and this is how he repays me?!?

So, yeah, it was tough noogies for the returning players, as Laura Morett now heads to Redemption Island to take on Brad and John in a duel to stay in the game. Did Aras get rid of the right Laura, or will the tribe live to regret it? And will that tribe even exist next week? (Previews hint at a tribe-switcheroo.) My full recap will be up at midnight (UPDATE: Dalton’s recap is now live!) , but you can sound off on the episode right here and right now.
