'Homeland' ratings stand up to 'The Walking Dead'
The Walking Dead’s massive audience didn’t scare Showtime viewers away from their Homeland habit Sunday night.
Homeland‘s 9 p.m airing took a slight hit (1.8 million viewers) going head-to-head with the AMC zombie thriller, yet the espionage drama more than compensated with its repeat airings. For the night, Homeland totaled 2.6 million viewers — its biggest audience yet this season (and it’s second-best series tally behind the season 2 finale). New period drama Masters of Sex was almost steady with 1.4 million viewers for the night.
The news follows both Homeland and Masters of Sex posting Week 2 gains last Sunday. Showtime must have been a tad nervous about losing Dexter in the fall, but Homeland is doing just fine without it.
