CBS shakeup stops Monday ratings bleed: '2 Broke Girls' up
The patient is starting to stabilize. CBS’ Monday lineup posted week-to-week ratings gains for the first time this season after the network shook-up its lineup.
The ratings bleed halted after CBS yanked struggling sitcom We Are Men from 8:30 p.m., shifted 2 Broke Girls a half hour earlier, and fed a Big Bang Theory repeat into 9 p.m. The result: HIMYM was steady, 2 Broke Girls went up and new drama Hostages finally stopped dropping. The only downside: New sitcom Mom still fell 10 percent. But for a battlefield tourniquet, this result is still pretty good.
Also Monday:
— ABC’s Dancing and Castle were both up, with the latter rising 16 percent. — NBC’s data may be inflated to NFL pre-emption in Indianapolis, but even so it looks like Voice and Blacklist will be roughly on par.
— Bones was down a notch and Sleepy Hollow was down 7 percent. At this point I would like to see Hollow put the brakes on, it’s slipped a little each week since its mid-September premiere.
— The CW’s block was unchanged in 18-49 last week, and Hart and Beauty were up slightly in total viewers. This would be amazing — two shows didn’t drop at all for their second weeks on the air! — if not for their modest overall performance.
