'Fast & Furious 7': Vin Diesel shares first photo with Kurt Russell
Even Dominic Toretto knows to bow down in the presence of Snake Plissken.
“Kurt Russell, such an honor to work with,” Fast & Furious 7 star Vin Diesel wrote on his Facebook page along with a photo of himself, franchise staple Paul Walker, and Hollywood vet and cult action hero Kurt Russell. Sadly, there’s no eye patch in sight.
Russell is one of the newest and most exciting additions to the Fast series, even though details on his actual role remain a mystery. Reports first surfaced in late August that the Escape From New York star was in talks to join the movie, which is currently shooting in Los Angeles with James Wan in the director’s chair. Other additions to the franchise include Tony Jaa, Djimon Hounsou, and Ronda Rousey, but Russell’s is certainly the casting that’s garnering the most buzz.
The three men look somewhat out-of-place in the teaser photo, decked out in clean, neatly pressed suits and hanging out in a cluttered body shop. There’s only so much you can tell from a single photo. Still, we hope the Fast guys haven’t gone all Ocean’s Eleven on us. Where are the tank tops? And why does Diesel have so many buttons buttoned on that oxford? Something is amiss.
Penned by Fast & Furious 6 and Fast Five scribe Chris Morgan, the seventh installment of the extremely popular franchise will hit theaters July 11, 2014.
