Paula Patton, wife of Robin Thicke, finally revealed her thoughts on her husband and Miley Cyrus’ controversial MTV Video Music Awards performance.

The Baggage Claim star appeared on Tuesday night’s episode of Watch What Happens Live to set the record straight, expressing her confusion at the backlash, laughed at the silliness of the ruckus, and defended her husband’s choice of wardrobe.

“I wasn’t surprised at all. Honestly, they rehearsed for three days beforehand. I don’t know how not to dance with someone having their booty in your … all my friends do it like that,” she said. (Indeed, during a pre-VMAs interview with Access Hollywood, Patton seemed to be in on the musicians’ racy performance plans when she laughed and smiled as Robin Thicke gave a hint about what was to come: “I will tell you that Miley Cyrus is no longer Hannah Montana.”)

Patton continued, “And I don’t really know what the big deal is.”

She also poked fun at audience’s reactions, “I don’t know if they thought Miley was gonna sit down and play piano like Alicia Keys?”

“The song is about taking Molly! I don’t understand. I didn’t get the big deal,” she added.
