First-name-basis style icons are on a first-name basis for a reason. Whether it was their sublime performances or their glamorous auras, they continued to enthrall audiences long past their deaths. There was Audrey. And Marilyn. And the Hollywood royalty-turned-actual royalty, Grace.
Nicole Kidman stars as Grace Kelly in the Olivier Dahan-directed biopic Grace of Monaco. The film follows her marriage to Prince Rainier III (Tim Roth) during a politically turbulent time of their reign.
The trailer — in which the solemn narration is backed by a floating aria — sets up the almost-mythical status of Monaco and Hollywood’s princess: “You are the fairy tale, the serenity to which we all aspire.” Cue a virtual supercut of Nicole Kidman beauty shots. “And peace will come when you embrace the roles you have been destined to play,” the narrator continues. Being a princess is serious business!

Grace of Monaco will have a limited release on Nov. 27.
