'Dexter' kills off a big final season character
SPOILER ALERT: With only two episodes left in the series, Showtime’s Dexter has killed off a major character appearing this season.
Sunday’s 10th episode said farewell to…
Dr. Evelyn Vogel (Charlotte Rampling) — the Frankenstein-like creator of Dexter Morgan’s kill-code and the mother of yet another Miami serial killer, The Brain Surgeon (Darri Ingolfsson).
Vogel was dispatched in “Goodbye Miami” by her own son, whom she tried to save from Dexter’s vengeance. In the end, her mercy only got her throat cut as Dexter watched helplessly. The reveal will be somewhat surprising to fans as many thought Vogel herself was the Brain Surgeon, or was possibly in cahoots with her son, or at least possessed some other dark secret. Turns out, Vogel was exactly who she said she was.
At least Dex’s love interest Hannah McKay (Yvonne Strahovski) is still alive — for now.
This week’s recap is going up later than usual due to some access issues. Check back on EW.com on Monday morning for the full scoop.
