One Direction announces new album 'Midnight Memories'
First they wanted you up all night, then they wanted you to take them home, and now they want to make some midnight memories. How very PG-13 for the current reigning boy band!
One Direction — that’s Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, Harry Styles, and Louis Tomlinson — have announced the release of their third album, Midnight Memories, out Nov. 25. The album follows 2012’s Take Me Home and 2011’s Up All Night.
Coming off their 3-D concert movie (which has made $19 million since being released last week) and their VMA win for “Best Song Ever,” the boys are poised to get even bigger… but their pop-y smooth sound may get a rougher edge this time around. “[It’s a] very rock direction,” Payne said of the new album. “We actually spent a lot of time writing this album. We’re very proud of it, so we can’t wait for it to come out.”
It’s no surprise that the guys, known for their rabid fan base, announced the album title via an Instagram video — and of course Styles couldn’t resist being his typical joke-y self.
“I think you’ll like it,” Styles tweeted today.
